Park Restoration - Arkansas Wild Spaces

Hello, and thank you for your interest in the EVHA park! In November 2024, the Arkansas Wild Spaces program graciously provided an extensive assessment of the park’s ecological wellness. Under the leadership of local members of the Central Arkansas Master Naturalists, we are using this as a guide for park and landscaping projects.

A primary objective, and the main area preventing the EVHA park from being certified by Arkansas Wild Spaces, is to remove non-native invasive species such as Chinese Privet, Silktree/Mimosa, Nandina/Heavenly Bamboo, English Ivy, Periwinkle, and Japanese Honeysuckle. We will replace these invasive species with native trees and shrubs as outlined in the plant recommendations document below.

Please stay tuned for future updates and neighborhood park cleanup days!

We are extremely grateful to Arkansas Wild Spaces for taking the time to be so thorough with these documents. If you live in or near Echo Valley, feel free to download these to use as a high-level reference for your own yard or projects in addition to contacting AWS for an assessment and certification of your property.
